The fight against Galamsey is on and the latest news about this whole fight which probably won’t go anywhere is the burning of 8 excavators reportedly belonging to NPP’s National Women’s Organizer, Kate Gyamfua by the Galamsey Task Force in the Eastern Region.
The videos of the exercise are all over social media and in the background of the video, some people who came to the scene instead of lamenting about how our water bodies have been destroyed were rather crying and complaining about the burning of the excavators.
Anyway, I believe the burning of the excavators isn’t the way to go since excavators can be used for other purposes when seized by the government.
