Self-acclaimed queen of music, Wendy Shay has petitioned the president of the republic, Nana Akufo-Addo that he should act fast before the music industry collapses.
Wendy Shay asked the president how he expects Ghanaian musicians to survive after they were banned from advertising for alcoholic beverage companies because they negatively affect the youth.
That is not all, the celebs have also been banned from endorsing betting companies. Meaning Wendy Shay and other celebrities who have deals with BET Planet can no longer advertise for them.
However, Wendy Shay in a Twitter petition to the president asked why he has remained silent over the seemingly unfair treatment as that is how they can survive as the music alone cannot sustain them.
In her post on Twitter, she said “Dear @NAkufoAddo 1st, FDA stopped celebs from promoting alcoholic bev’s making us lose jobs to Nigerian celebrities. Gaming commission just stopped us from promoting betting serv. So how do we survive as creative persons in this pandemic?
