Following the tragic death of NBA star, Kobe Bryant, 13-year-old daughter, Gianni and 7 others, American rapper, Snoop Dogg and over 400,000 people have signed a petition to put Kobe Bryant’s photo on the NBA logo.
Snoop Dogg on his Instagram page posted how the NBA logo will look like after Kobe Bryant’s photo has been put on it and tagged NBA Instagram page asking them to do the right thing.
Snoop Dogg simply wrote; “New logo. @nba Let’s do what’s right”. Aside from Snoop Dogg’s petition, another petition by Nick M of Vancouver, British Columbia, asking the NBA to rebrand the logo and place Kobe Bryant’s photo on it has reportedly been signed by over 400,000 people.
The petition by Nick M of Vancouver, British Columbia reads;
“With the untimely and unexpected passing of the great Kobe Bryant please sign this petition in an attempt to immortalize him forever as the new NBA Logo”.
The existing NBA logo was created by Alan Siegel in 1969 by blending Los Angeles Lakers’ star Jerry West’s silhouette from a photo taken by Wen Roberts.
Maybe the time has come for Jerry West’s photo which has been on the NBA logo since 1969 to be replaced with Kobe Bryant’s.
