Shundale Barnett Who Was Arrested In Young Dolph's Murder Released On Bond

Young Dolph was shot and killed in Memphis on 17th November 2021. It took authorities days to apprehend the suspects; Hernandez Govan, Justin Johnson, Cornelius Smith, and Shundale Barnett, and charge them accordingly.

The fourth suspect, Shundale Barnett was not an accomplice in killing Young Dolph; however, authorities charged him with an after-the-fact accessory believing that he helped prime suspect Justin Johnson evade capture.

Shundale was once wrongfully released before he was recaptured again. Shundale walked out of Texas jail on bond on 24th December while his accomplices await trial in jail still insisting on their innocence.

Shundale Barnett, one of the men arrested in connection with the murder of Memphis rapper Young Dolph, was released from a Texas county jail. According to the sheriff’s office, Barnett bonded out of the Tarrant County Jail in Fort Worth on Christmas Eve.

Barnett was charged with being an accessory after the fact to first-degree murder and initially, he was mistakenly released from custody on January 21 instead of being extradited to Memphis. He was arrested as a passenger in the car of 23-year-old Justin Johnson, also a suspect. They were pulled over on January 11 at a truck stop in Brazil, Indiana.

Johnson and Cornelius Smith, 32, were both booked on charges of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, employment of a firearm, and theft of property over $10,000. Both men pleaded not guilty.

Young Dolph was just 32 years old at the time of his death. The autopsy revealed 22 entry and exit gunshot wounds.
