If the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Dramani Mahama had the power to take one important thing from President Akufo-Addo before hitting the 2020 election campaign, I’m sure he’d take away the legendary footwear he wore throughout his campaign for the presidency.
I call it the “Legendary Lucky Footwear”──and I’m wondering whether President Akufo-Addo will still use it during his campaign for a second term in office or he will spend a colossal amount of taxpayers money on a customised Nike, Addidas or Puma footwear since money isn’t a problem now?
Why the above question? You know what? Ghanaian politicians even when they are rich but in opposition tag themselves as broke until they win power──so let’s assume President Akufo-Addo was broke throughout his campaign for the presidency but now rich!
And since he is now rich and the ruler of Ghana, he is likely to get new footwear for himself as we hit the road to 2020 election campaign.
Perhaps, you are so confused as to comprehend the meaning of the above so let me go slow on this.
Long story short, President Akufo Addo is likely to ditch his legendary footwear for a new one since the old tattered footwear has been kept in a safe in a glass with the inscription “Road to Flagstaff House. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo”.
Ghana’s best Travel Blogger Akesse Sanza posted the photo on his Facebook page and wrote;
“This is the footwear the current president of Ghana wore throughout his campaign for presidency. Flagstaff House, now Jubilee House, is the seat of government. The footwear is expected to either attract tourists in future or auctioned”.
How much do you think President Akufo-Addo’s legendary footwear would cost should it be auctioned? A million-dollar?
I think the NDC should buy this legendary footwear for John Mahama if they really want him to win the 2020 Presidential election and return to the Flagstaff House.
