Ghana Records 21 Coronavirus Cases With 1 Death

Following the call on President Akufo Addo by the Ghana Medical Association (GMA), Trade Union Congress (TUC) and other stakeholders to lock down the country to avoid the spread of coronavirus from escalating and getting out of hand, letters to the Ghana Police on how to operate during a lockdown have been leaked.

The Ghana Medical Association a few days ago released a statement on the dangers of not locking down the country looking at how porous Ghana’s healthcare system is.

And it’s true, the healthcare system in Ghana is nothing to write home about and there is no way to use such a healthcare system to battle deadly coronavirus.

If the likes of the United States, Italy, France, Germany and others with robust healthcare systems are even finding it difficult to fight against coronavirus how much more Ghana with a tortoise kind of healthcare system?

In the official documents to the Ghana Police on how to operate during the lockdown, Accra, Tema, Kumasi and Obuasi appeared as the cities to experience a possible lockdown.

Ghana has now recorded 136 coronavirus cases and counting. The time and date for the lockdown are not yet out!
