The 23-year-old has been suspended from eight games after he displayed a gun belonging to one of his securities during Instagram Live. Although the act was not criminal, Ja was slammed for showcasing a gun in a club, especially when gun violence is rampant.

While it was reported that Ja Morant is currently seeking help at a church, the NBA star did not admit to that; rather, he confirmed seeking help from therapy, Reiki, and many more.

On the heels of the NBA suspending him for 8 games, Ja Morant sat with Jalen Rose for an exclusive interview about the events that led to his suspension.

“It’s not who I am. I don’t condone any type of violence, but I’ve taken responsibility for my actions,” Morant expressed. “I put myself in a bad position,” he added.

Morant said that the weapon he flashed on IG Live didn’t belong to him but admitted that it was foolish to do something like that. He then apologized for “putting that negativity toward all of us with a known bad decision.”

“I’m gonna show everybody who Ja really is, what I’m about and change this narrative that nobody got painted over me,” he said. “I realized I have a lot of kids who looked up to me, even some adults, a lot of fans and I realize my past mistakes is in being a good role model. So, just got to be better in that area, be more responsible, be smarter and make better decisions.”

Morant added about the current state of his mental health: “I was constantly talking to therapists. I’ve been doing Reiki treatment. I’m doing anxiety breathing different stuff to help me manage that and release all that stuff from my body.”

I’m rooting for Ja. He is too young to be messed up in sh-ts like this. I hope he adheres to his claims and comes back better.
