After Playboi Carti was arrested for choking his pregnant girlfriend, his ex-girlfriend Iggy Azalea had a lot to say about Carti’s toxic traits.
According to 32-year-old Azalea, 26-year-old Playboi Carti was both emotionally and physically abusive. Iggy took to Twitter to emphasize Carti’s abuse and also his neglect of their 3-year-old son Onyx Kelly.
Iggy Azalea in a recent interview has again stressed Carti’s toxicity and what led to their sudden split. Iggy claims her parent’s marriage serves as a guide for her to identify toxic relationships and avoid them. So when Carti woke up one day to verbally abuse her, a few days after the birth of their child, she parked her stuff and left Playboi with no prior breakup plans.
According to her, it wasn’t easy, but she did and tried to warn Playboi’s current girlfriend, but she ignored it.

Rapper Iggy Azalea recently revealed what led to her breakup from fellow rapper Playboi Carti.
In a new interview, Iggy Azalea, 32, opened up about her relationship status, as well as her split with Playboi Carti, 26. She reportedly said that she dated a little bit last year but she has been single since she and the “Sky” rapper split in 2020.
As you may recall, the pair reportedly started dating in 2018. However, after having a child together, they broke up in 2020. Since their split, Iggy Azalea has alleged multiple times that Playboi Carti is an absentee parent who is rarely there for their young son Onyx Kelly.
Iggy Azalea, born Amethyst Kelly, says in the podcast episode,
“Like, right after I had my son, I left his father. Something happened one day with my son’s father and me and it was just one of those moments where you’re just like, ‘I didn’t wake up thinking this is what my day would be.’ But by the end of the day, I was on a plane to Los Angeles and I never went back.”
Reportedly, the “Fancy” rapper claims she and Carti had a “volatile relationship” that she knew “wasn’t working” for them. Before admitting that she felt some sort of responsibility to keep their family together, she recalls,
I didn’t think I was going to be leaving when I left. My father and my mother had such a volatile relationship that I wish I had seen less of it. And so that was what happened to me in that moment that I had on that day. I was like, I will never let my son see this because I don’t want him to see someone talk to me this way too but because I don’t want him to ever learn this, I don’t want him to be exposed to this.”
Last week, the Australian native took to Twitter and fired off a few tweets aimed at her ex-boyfriend Carti following reports of his December arrest.
As previously reported, Carti was arrested in Georgia for allegedly choking his pregnant girlfriend following an argument over a paternity test. Reportedly, Carti and the alleged victim had been dating for two years prior to the incident – which occured in December – and living together since July 2022. The woman was 14 weeks pregnant at the time of the alleged attack
Iggy tweeted,
“Been there. Done that. Warned you.”
She continued,
“Imagine having a pregnant girlfriend and pretending they don’t exist until it comes out you like to abuse them too – & rarely visiting your actual son unless is because you’re running from whatever problems ya got going on in Atlanta & the press with your serial abuse of woman”
She then added,
“Anyway. I’m having an actually amazing day! karmas real! Treat the people you love well! Happy Valentine’s Day.”
I can’t believe Iggy Azalea allowed someone she is almost a decade older than to physically abuse her in the name of a relationship. Why didn’t she lock his a** up?
