The Government of Ghana has released a press statement concerning the xenophobic attacks on foreigners living in South African especially Ghanaians.
In a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration and signed by the sector Minister, Shirley Ayorkor Botchway, Ghanaians living in South Africa are safe.
According to the Minister, there hasn’t been confirmation that Ghanaians living in South Africa have been affected by the xenophobic attacks launched by some South Africans on foreigners.

She, therefore, assured Ghanaians having relatives in South Africa to keep calm and urged the South African authorities to ensure the safety of foreigners.
