MyJoyOnline is reporting that Ghana will on Sunday, March 29, 2020, be locked down over the spread of coronavirus.
According to the Daily Guide Newspaper’s reliable sources at the presidency;
“Beginning midnight on Sunday, March 29, 2020, a lockdown is expected to take effect in some parts of Ghana. Police are expected to be deployed at barricades and access to essential services suspended.”
“Since Monday, there have been numerous calls on President Nana Akufo-Addo to declare a lockdown like many countries have done to mitigate the growing spread of the deadly disease.
As of Friday, March 27, 2020, Ghana has recorded 137 confirmed cases.
A lockdown is typically an emergency protocol that a state uses to prevent people from leaving particular area. It is not yet clear what people can do or cannot do under the lockdown in the four cities, an announcement of which is expected to be made by the president at 11pm”.
