Award-winning star of the north, Prinx Pumi, has reportedly been shot dead by armed robbers in the Upper East Region of Ghana.
The robbery attack happened in Tilli while on his way to Zebilla from Bolga around 2:00 am.
According to a source, Prinx Pumi who is studying at the University for Development (UDS), Tamale, returned to Bolgatanga to proceed to Zebilla, the Bawku West District Hospital where he works as a professional nurse on Monday, July 19, 2021.
“Together with a friend whose name is only given as Paul, left Bolgatanga midnight to Zebilla. This is contrary to earlier reports that he rather left Zebilla to Bolgatanga.
Upon reaching the Tilli, a stretch on the Bolgatanga- Bawku road, they were ambushed by armed robbers at about 2 am Tuesday, 20th July 2021.
The armed robbers shot Prinx Pumi severally in the face at close range. He was rushed to the Bawku West District Hospital where he would later be transferred to the Tamale Teaching Hospital.
Pumi, sadly, gave up the ghost at about 3 pm Tuesday 20th July 2021. He is survived by a child, a wife, and both parents. He was 31.”
